FORT DIX, NEW JERSEY, MARCH 5, 1960

Rock’n’Roll singer Elvis Presley was seperated from the Army today to resume his million dollar plus a year show business career. The 25 year old former truck driver left this army post with his Manager Colonel Tom Parker in a chauffer driven limousine. Parker said he was going to New York but Presley declined on the destination. Half a dozen teen-age girls and a score of photographers and newsmen were on hand to witness Presley’s departure. Still wearing his Army uniform, Presley walked to the waiting car, girls trying to mob him and soldiers asking for autographs.
