HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA, NOVEMBER 1957

RCA Victor’s Elvis Presley received his severest rebuke to date last week when the Los Angeles Police Department issued an eddict to “clean up the show or else” during the singers two-day stand at the Pan Pacific here (October 28 – 29). Despite un-mercifil critical notices, playing to 9,000 payees. The Police department order followed Presley’s first date, with Deputy Chief Dick Simons ordering the vice squad to have Presley eliminate all sexy overtones in the show. Twenty Coast dates neted Presley nearly $400,000. The singer is scheduled to begin a new picture here shortly.
