Elvis Halloween Ball

Elvis Halloween Ball: The Elvis Halloween Ball at Brighton Le-Sands Amateur Fishermen’s Club was a sell out with around 350 adults and children in attendance.

I take this opportunity to once again thank Dynamic Rock, Paul Fenech, Glen Hunt and the Houseshakers for their professionalism on the night.

Dynamic Rock opened the show ad produced two forty minute sets that showed fire and set the mood for the night.

They were followed by Paul Fenech as Elvis In the 70’s, and the final two sets were Reb Baker and the Houseshakers. This was Reb’s second club function and once again I thank him for a night of pure entertainment ample backed by some of the best musicians in the business today, which include Noel Taylor on drums and my good friend Johnny Cunningham on lead guitar. (Johnny Saturday night was amazing it is the best I’ve seen you play and you never looked happier. Must have something to do with the return of that beautiful lady by your side.) Reb gave everything he had and once again gave us a show that was 2nd to non. Every bit as good as our 40th Anniversary function. Thanks Mate for capping of a wonderful night of entertainment.

That is not to say the night did not have problems, we apologise to members for the seating set up & lack of it. We spent the two weeks prior to the function advising the Club Management and the Bistro Operator that we were going to have a sell out and there would be over 300 in attendance including the children. We were not told until 1 hour before the doors opened that the club had scrapped a number of older tables and seats and not replaced them and they did not have enough seating to set the room up to our requirements.

So a group of us set the room up with what we could find, I want to say a special thankyou to George, Fernando and Glen for all there help and also Steve Head for his assistance on the door.

We do have some photo’s which will be placed on the site in the next couple of days.

George is now hunting for a bigger room in the Botany, Illawarra Region for our 30th Anniversary Jail Break Party next year on either the 21st or 28th July. We have already secured Reb & The Houseshakers for the night. By the way there were a number of witches, devils , ghosts and a female Elvis in attendance.
