Forever Neil Diamond

Forever Neil Diamond: Whilst mostly we review CD’s that contain total Elvis content, this recently released cd was sent to us to review by the Shout Factory in Los Angeles.

Forever Neil Diamond presents 14 of the best popular covers of classic Neil Diamond songs, including UB40’s #1 smash cover of ”Red Red Wine,” Urge Overkill’s memorable version of ”Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon” & Deep Purple’s hard-rock take on ”Kentucky Woman.”

But probably the most exciting track for me was Elvis singing “And The Grass Won’t Pay No Mind”, I have overlooked this track in my collection on a number of occasions but whilst driving alone playing this cd, I now realise what a gem this actually is, recorded by Elvis in 1970 for the “Back To Memphis” album it’s nothing short of stunning. This is a very gentle song, sung by Elvis with some beautiful backing harmonies. It’s a must to sit back and listen to.

The album features a number of other artists putting there own style and twist to some of Neil’s best known tunes and finishes with Neil and The band doing a great rendition of “Dry Your Eyes”

The quality of this cd produced by the Shout Factory is 2nd to none.
