The Gospel According to Elvis

The Gospel According to Elvis
Presented by: Pegasus Venue Management and Entertanners
The ‘Gospel According to Elvis’ is a musical roller coaster ride of nineteen knockout hit Gospel songs performed by an eight piece rockin’ band. From the opening scene set in Elvis’s Memphis Pentecostal church, to the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas showroom, this is the untold story of the man and his music. The show reaches a crescendo when, the ‘Queen of Gospel’ leads onto the stage ‘The Tongues of Fire Gospel Choir’. This ensemble is sourced from the local community and brought to performance level in a series of Gospel Master Classes.

Son of a preacher, Andy Seymour grew up with this music flowing through his veins. Respectfully, he evokes the power, range and emotion of Elvis himself, through his extraordinary vocal talent. American critics have described him as ”the voice of Elvis”. Trace Canini, the ‘Queen of Gospel’, brings to the stage the spiritual energy and magic of black gospel music. The show has played the Adelaide Caberet Festival in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

The Australian Government is proud to be associated with this tour through the national performing arts touring program, Playing Australia, which gives Australians across the country the opportunity to see some of our best performing arts.
